Getting Here is Easy
Sunshine Village is located in Banff National Park, just 90 minutes west of Calgary, Alberta. Getting there from the Calgary International Airport is a snap by car or coach.
Sunshine Village’s high-speed eight-passenger gondola whisks guests from the base area check-in up to the Sunshine Mountain Lodge in approximately 20 minutes.
Please note the gondola hours as there's no access to the hotel outside of these hours.
Saturday – Thursday: 8:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
We recommend guests dress warmly for the gondola ride and keep any important items with you while we transfer your luggage up to the hotel.

Rental cars from the Calgary International Airport are located on the departures level. You must cross the departures roadway to get there
From the Calgary International Airport: drive time approximately 90 minutes.
- Follow Barlow Trail to exit for Airport Trail (W) onto Airport Trail until you reach the exit for Deerfoot Trail (Highway 2), turn right (N) onto Deerfoot Trail (Highway 2). Continue north on Deerfoot Trail and exit onto Stoney Trail (W). Continue on Stoney Trail (W) exit onto Highway 1 (Trans Canada West).
- Continue along this highway until you reach the gates for Banff National Park. At the park gates you will be required to purchase a Park Pass for the vehicle.
- After the gates you will continue west on the Highway for approximately 15 minutes.
- Take the Exit for Sunshine Village (right) and continue up the access road until you reach the base area for Sunshine Village.
SHUTTLE FROM TOWN OF BANFF TO SUNSHINE VILLAGE
The Sunshine Village shuttle bus operates between the town of Banff and Sunshine Village Resort. There are pickup points convenient for all the hotels in Banff with times to suit early powder hounds or the more leisurely late skier. There are return trips back to Banff throughout the afternoon. Visitors holding a tri-area lift ticket (typically included in hotel packages or available from Sunshine Village Resort) get free use of the shuttle otherwise the following prices are in effect:
Adult round trip: $15.00
Adult one-way: $10.00
Child round trip: $10.00
Child one-way: $6.00

Calgary International Airport - Sunshine Village
The official airport shuttle provider of Sunshine Village and the best way to get to and from Calgary Airport. Banff Airporter offers 10 transfers daily between Calgary Airport and Banff and Canmore. Banff Airporter also offers 10 transfers daily between Canmore and Banff as well as private transportation from Canmore and Banff right to Sunshine Village. Reservations are required; please book online or call 1-888-449-2901.
Brewster Banff Airport Express
Transports guests from the Calgary International Airport to Banff where they will take a scheduled Sunshine Village Ski shuttle at the Brewster transportation hub which will take you directly to the Sunshine Mountain Lodge Creekside Lodge Hotel Check-In at the resort’s base.
Guests can purchase in advance directly through Brewster Banff Airport Express or your tour operator of choice. Tickets can also be purchased on day of arrival at the Brewsters Airport Express.
Calgary and Canmore - Sunshine Village
Offers a convenient trip from Calgary and Canmore to Sunshine Village. With daily departures from several locations during the ski season the coach will provide you a comfortable and convenient way to get to the resort. There are combined bus & lift ticket rates available as well as discounted bus rates for season pass holders and Sunshine Marmot card holders. Sunshine Village is famous for its mild temperatures during mid to late-season. In late April and May, you can ski or snowboard in a t-shirt. Throughout the majority of the season, temperatures remain moderately below freezing. However, early season conditions can be quite cold, so it’s important to dress for the temperatures.
