visiting sunshine village is truly one of the world's most unique nature-inspired experiences.
In the summer, Sunshine Village is a place where wildflowers bloom as bright and vibrant as coral reefs. A place where Mesolithic creatures, such as the mighty grizzly bear, still roams the vast meadows.
Sitting on the doorstep of some of the best hiking in the world, you set the pace for your own adventure. Catch a glimpse of the local red fox while rambling to pristine alpine lakes and losing count of all those snow-capped peaks surrounding you. Dine on top of the world or go on a photo journey capturing alpine life at above 7,000 feet.
SUNSHINE MEADOWS HIKING
Sunshine Meadows features over 6 named and interconnecting routes on 12 km (7.5 miles) of hiking trails for guests to explore. In late July and early August, catch a glimpse of the colourful wildflowers blooming. In September, watch as the larch trees turn the valley a beautiful golden hue.
Gondola & Chairlift Sightseeing
Ride the Standish quad chairlift to over 2,400 m (7,875 ft.) — the highest Gondola / Chairlift access sightseeing elevation in the Banff and Lake Louise area— and experience 360 degree views of the Rocky Mountains that surround you.
From there, catch even more breathtaking scenery from the Standish viewpoint platform and take in the view of the three high-alpine lakes; Larynx, Grizzly and Rock Isle.
