Do I need to buy a park pass when travelling to Sunshine Village?
Yes, anyone staying in Banff National Park is required to purchase a park pass. For information and rates click here.

How long is the gondola ride from the base to the village?
Approximately 17 minutes.

Are the gondolas heated?
No, they are not. We strongly suggest you bring warm clothing as weather conditions can sometimes reach below -25 Celsius. Blankets and lanterns are available at check-in.

What are the gondola hours?
Daily 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

What happens if we cannot make the gondola hours?
Transportation may be available after hours for a fee, and must be arranged at least 24 hours prior to arrival. If possible, we strongly recommend you schedule your arrival and departure times in accordance to the gondola hours.

Do you allow pets?
No, we do not allow any animals to be brought into the Sunshine Mountain Lodge.

Can we go into the Town of Banff?
Day trips are available via car or bus into Banff, about 15 minutes away. On Friday evening, you can visit town for dinner and return by 10 p.m. to catch the gondola back up to the village.

Can we bring our own alcohol?
No. Guests are not allowed bring their own alcohol onsite. You can leave your alcohol at the check-in, and we will return it to you when you leave.

What can families do at the hotel?
The Sunshine Mountain Lodge offers a broad range of family friendly activities. Our games room features popular board games, plus there is an arcade game area. Movie nights feature early movies for children, followed by later movies geared to adults. Every night of the week, there are different outdoor activities, including snowshoeing, interpretive talks around a bonfire and tobogganing. Ask the concierge or front desk for a schedule.

Is there a spa?
Yes. Services offered include hot stone massage, aromatherapy massage, deep tissue massage, relaxation massage, manicure treatments and/or pedicure treatments. See the front desk to book your appointment.  

Can I get wireless?
Full wireless Internet is available for an additional daily charge. Ask your Customer Care agent for current rates.

Can I bring my skis into my room?
To protect the rooms, Sunshine offers a ski valet service at no extra charge. Simply check your skis at the side of the hotel, and we’ll retrieve them for you in the morning.  Skis and snowboards are not allowed in the rooms.

Do you have cribs for my young child?
Cribs and high chairs can be arranged for guests. Please advise the hotel 24 hours in advance, if possible.
